SaltWater Gypsy is a studio project based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Formed in 2008 as a writing duo, Kevin Schmitke and Justin Spearing intend to release some material prior to their anticipated album release in early 2010. Kevin Schmitke is a GIT grad from the Musician's Institute in Hollywood California and a graduate from the Audio Institute of America's Sound Engineer and music producer program. He has performed with several acts across North America, has written numerous albums and thousands of songs. Justin has been Kevin's musical apprentice for almost a decade learning everything from the guitar, to songwriting, recording, session playing, music production and sound engineering. Ever the student he has learned enough from Kevin that he now co-writes with him as the other half of Saltwater Gypsy.
All tracks released on this website are sample tracks from the studio, are not mastered and are given a "quick mix" so expect a mastered version when the album is released.
